Ashley graduated from the School of Foreign Service majoring in STIA. When Ashley first enrolled in Persian, she did not know anything about the Persian language or culture, but looking back, she considers joining the Persian Studies Program “the best decision she made at Georgetown.” Studying Persian opened countless opportunities throughout her time at Georgetown, such as studying abroad in Tajikistan and Scotland, working as a TA for the Persian Studies Program, conducting honors thesis research on Securitization of Transboundary Water Resources, and securing several internships and jobs largely because of her language skills, including traveling to Uzbekistan for the Fulbright English Teaching Assistant (ETA) grant. After graduating, she worked as a research assistant for Robin Wright and The Iran Primer team at the Wilson Center/U.S. Institute of Peace.
